Dorus has been working in the Hospitality Industry since 2005, started in a few low-key restaurants. He finally decided to work at the highest level and meanwhile attend the Hotelschool in Amsterdam. After working for different Michelinstar chefs like Jan Sobecki** and Lucas Rive** he ended up at Hotel TwentySeven and Restaurant Bougainville in role of Chef de Cuisine, which had just openend his doors. In the first year after opening the restaurant was awarded with 1 michelin star!
Now it is time for the next chapter, a brand new restaurant in Amsterdam together with friend and business partner Lendl Mijnhijmer ready for the next chapter Restaurant Showw!
Lendl, started as a dishwasher at Café 't Hemeltje in Bloemendaal. It was during an internship at Restaurant Terra Cotta were he was infected with the wine virus, the place where he learned to taste wine for the first time. This remained on the back burner. After this internship, he did other internships in Paris at a Mercure Hotel, in Amsterdam at the Hilton and in Cape Town at The Bay Hotel in Camps Bay.
The most important and main work experience was gained at Restaurant Waterproef in Scheveningen. At Restaurant Waterproef he started his wine studies, entered competitions. This is where he truly became a Sommelier. This resulted in the transfer from Scheveningen to Amsterdam, to Restaurant Bougainville at Hotel TwentySeven, where he worked as Wine Director & Restaurant Manager for about 5 years.
Together with Dorus, his businesspartner, Showw will be his ultimate way of expressing his dynamic journey within the Hospitality Industry. Showw will be the place were Lendl will be able to apply his full creativity, because it has not been exhausted yet.
